Default Anyone taking METHYLDOPA 250 MG TABLET

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and my GYN prescribed me METHYLDOPA 250 MG TABLET. I'm a little nervous taking this while pregnant but due to my blood pressure rising while I'm pregnant I feel like I have no choice. Has any women out there had any bad experience with this medication while pregnant? Was their baby born healthy? any info is appreciated.

Aldomet (methylddopa) is classified Pregnancy Category B. Meaning animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
Published reports of the use of methyldopa during all trimesters indicate that if this drug is used during pregnancy the possibility of fetal harm appears remote. In five studies, three of which were controlled, involving 332 pregnant hypertensive women, treatment with Aldomet (methyldopa) was associated with an improved fetal outcome. The majority of these women were in the third trimester when methyldopa therapy was begun.
