ACE inhibitors have been found to help preserve kidney function, yes, but hypertension meds have parameters and you should know yours. Your doctor may tell you to hold the med if your systolic B/P is less than 100, for example. But you will have to speak to your doctor -- I can't answer this for you.

Why don't you call the doctor or pharmacy and ask? They would know!

ACE inhibitors are given to hypertensive patients who need a decrease in blood pressure. This is done through the metabolism of angiotensin in the kidneys. If you have a chronic kidney disease, ACE inhibitors may be prescribed for you to increase the blood supply in the kidneys to help maintain it. But according to your urine creatinine result, it is within normal values. The danger actually lies in your blood pressure, which is at risk of getting lower and cause hypotension. Hope this helps.
