Important information needed on Chemotherapy! please help!
My younger brother of 18, is going under chemotherapy next week. I had a few questions and any information will be greatly appreciated! Can i be with him while he is going through it? Is it painful while it is occurring? What about side-effects? Are there any? What should I expect?

I think you should be able to be with him. It is usually done by IV.So it shouldn't be painful. He will be weak and probably sick to his stomach afterwards.

You can definitely stay with him, as long as you are not sick, since the immune system of your brother will be compromised and he is very susceptible to an infection.

It is done intravenously IV. It is not usually painful but they may experience a bit of pain and discomfort when the medication enters the body through IV.

Depending on his disposition and health, he will definitely feel very weak, sometimes nauseous. He can go home after or stay on until he feels a bit stronger.

Hope this helps.
