Both mannitol and furosemide (if this is what you mean) are compatible with cisplatin but mannitol is often given due to its osmosis effect in the glomerulus, where water is retained in the urine to maintain osmotic balance. Furosemide, on the other hand, is a high ceiling loop diuretic that causes huge diuresis, up to 20% of sodium and water, compared to the normal renal reabsorption of 0.4% of sodium. Which means, you lose more sodium when taking furosemide.
