How does chemotherapy affects dogs?
My 4 year old boxer just got diagnosed with multiple carcinoma. I always knew this breed has this type of health problems, but I didn't expect it to be so soon, and out of nowhere, he's always been a really healthy and active dog. He's my baby and I love him so much, can't even think of everything he is goona go through.
The prognosis is good, 'cause we caught it early. He's starting chemo next week, and don't know what to expect... besides what the vet has told me.
But i would like to know if anyone has actually gone throught it and any words of advice are more than welcome, and extremely appreciated. But above all I need success stories, to keep my hopes up.
I have faith everything is going to be allright, but at the same time can't stop worrying for secondary effects.

My dog hasn't gone through cancer but I have, - it was bad the drugs I was on - but expect a lathargic & nausous dog who won't want to eat much - depending how long the chemo sessions are for you may want to look into some sort of nutritional suppliment/ similar to the humanns ensure so he/ she doenst loose to much weight. Or home cooking ( no salts or sugars & blandetc..)
go to http://mydogscancer.com/dog_stories.html?source=overture&OVRAW=dog%20cancer&OVKEY=dog%20cancer&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=3170782022&OVKWID=29417726522

theres even a phone number to gt info from on that link
Here is their website: Aloha Medicinals Inc. They even have a canine info hotline where you can call and get answers on your dog cancer questions. (831) 426-2209

good luck to you & your dog - its nice to hear of oweners looking after their fur babies so well
