My grandmother lost hair from chemotherapy which shampoo/treatment/wig should she use to help regrow hair??
She has lost all hair from chemo. I need some input on which shampoo/treatment/wig i should get her. Or which store i can get the shampoo or get her a wig. Please be sure on the shampoo/treatment/wig i don't want to get her something that doesn't work. Thank you!

Unfortunately, there is no prevention or medication to combat hair loss during chemotherapy treatment.

Many people try to use use over the counter hair growth shampoos, like Rogaine. They do not have any effect whatsoever. However, assure your grandmother that the hair will grow back, usually regrowth begins in about 6-8 weeks after treatment ends.

When the hair grows back, it may be different from the one that you have before (may be different in color or texture) That time, she can use a gentle shampoo, like baby shampoo and mild conditioner every 3-5 days to keep hair healthy looking.

As for the wig, anything can do as long as it looks good on her. Many look so natural, no one will recognize that she is wearing a wig. Have fun with your grandmother exploring different looks with wigs.

Oh yes, great idea! I'll take her with me and so she could try out some wigs herself. I just want her feel better again. Thanks a lot!
