What are the chances of me being able to have children after chemotherapy
I was diagnoised with Hodgkin's Lymphoma a little over a year ago and underwent 6 months of AVBD chemo. I'm now in remission and my husband and I would like to have children. Does anyone know the chances of someone being able to have babies after chemo????

It depends on the drugs used and the doses of chemo you had. You should consult your oncologist for advice - s/he should be able to tell you if the chemo is likely to have affected your fertility, and also whether it's OK to start trying now, or whether you need to wait longer after the chemo to allow your body to return to normal.

Little is known about the success rate of women attempting pregnancy following ABVD. Hodgson et al (from Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto) conducted a study which shows "Female HL patients who had survived without recurrence 3 years and who had attempted pregnancy after ABVD did not experience significant sub-fertility." However, it is best to discuss this with your OB and the doctor who treated you for HL.
