has anyone ever watched a movie at the Dr.s before chemotherapy?
My Mom had a mastectomy for breast cancer and now the oncologist wants her to see a movie along with many test before chemotherapy. Anyone ever heard of this?
The movie is just like a infomercial..no big deal. Just a lot of information that keeps the Dr from having to tell the same thing over and over and over and over all day long about the same thing.
She will do labs every like two weeks to check her hemoglobin / white and red blood count. If they are too low counts, she will have to delay chemo for a while.
She can expect to have bunches of tests from now on for years.
Its probably more of an informational video than a movie. And while I never did it, I dont see what it could hurt. And yes, most chemo patients go through a series of tests before chemo to evaluate where they are starting at.
Most hospitals do it. It's just 30-45 minutes long and goes through the process. The point to to answer many of the patient's questions rather than having someone say the same thing over and over. If your mother still has questions she certainly should ask.
