What is the difference between the chemotherapy drugs when used from different manufacturers
I want to know whether it is fine to use chemotherapy drugs like paclitaxel and carboplatin from any manufacturers or not. What is the difference between the drugs from different manufacturers? If we have one cycle from one and the other from the other manufacturer, will it be equally effective as using a single manufacturer ?
That can be an issue, because you want to make sure that you have the identical formula for the drug every single time you have treatment. If you are switching manufacturers based on price alone . . you could run into difficulties with differing ways the drug is manufactured (one may be better than the other . . but you have no way of knowing that). So stick to only one company and do not go back and forth. It is the same with any product that you buy . . there are generic versions . .and some are fine . .but if you start with one company than stay with it just to have your treatment be on a consistent basis.
