Cancer-Transplant-Chemotherapy?
My sister, who is 15, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia a few months ago. After many different references, doctors, states, hospitals, some have told me that chemotherapy would be best way to go. Others have said that bone marrow transplants would help. What are the pros and cons of both? Which would you think would be best? Advice?

My friend was diagnosed with stage 4 Beurkette's lymphoma (I don't know much more about it, we were mostly physical friends) but I know he went with chemotherapy. He began it in february and he only has 2 doses left. He had increasing, then decreasing, side effects from it, but it seems to have done a good job. From what he tells me he is almost cured, although we don't talk about it much. His symptoms from it were a lot of nausea and vomiting, especially right after a treatment, and weakness.
With any transplant there is a chance of rejection which can be serious, and also she will probably be on immunosuppresents for a long time, which suck (i have an auto immune disease, not nearly as bad as cancer, but I have some experience with immunosuppresents)
What i can tell you is that if your sister hasn't already needed to start treatment, her cancer isn't very far advanced. My friend started his less than a month after he was diagnosed, and his uncle, who did die from another, mroe seirous form of lymphoma, started his treatment, also chemo, 2 days after he was diagnosed.
Good luck to her!

You should probably post this question to diseases and conditions - cancer, for a better answer.
