Chemotherapy = no contact with animals?
My dad is being a little ridiculous. My mom just started up her chemo rounds and recently started losing her hair. Of course I know that there will be a risk to infections and various side effects. We currently have two perfectly healthy cats at home and I am the one handling all their waste/food, etc. My mom sits at home all day because my dad refuses to let her leave the house for risk of infection. He says that she can not eat yogurt because of the active cultures in it. I did some research, but came up with nothing that said yogurt was bad for you.

Also, I am currently a volunteer at two local animal shelters. At one, I do cat clean up where I handle cleaning the animal waste and all that. After each visit I immediately wash my clothes and take a shower. At another animal shelter, I volunteer with the dogs where it's simply walking the dogs and showing them to people interested in adopting. Now that my mom has started chemo, my dad wants me to completely stop volunteering until her chemo is OVER. Which can take up to 8 months. Is he being ridiculous? Or is he right to be so cautious?
