I'd like to know if chemotherapy can kill?

I take care of a 75 year old woman, recently she had a surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her colon, now they found a small one in the adenoids and her son does not want her to have chemotherapy. He thinks is going to kill her.

Yes, it certainly can, especially at that advanced age. Chemo totally knocks out a person's immune system, and simple infections can turn deadly.
