I was on Zoloft (Risperidone) for about 3 months due to schizophrenia, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, ever.
I had similar side effects to your husband, odd twitches (dyskensia), no sex drive and I was literally catatonic most of the time laid in bed. When I wasn't in bed I felt like a zombie, just feeling as if I had no purpose in life.
I also had another breakdown after about 4 weeks of taking it, which was one of the main reasons I came off it. The pros did not outweigh the cons for me at all, and I ended up going cold turkey from it (which was HORRENDOUS, and I do not recommend that in the slightest either as I was having ridiculous heart palpitations for weeks and dizzy spells). Risperidone (also known as Zoloft) also made me gain a stupid amount of weight in a small amount of time.
If your husband is still getting such bad side effects, I think it'd be appropriate that you get him switched to another medication.
If he's on the drugs for depression or anxiety though, please consider cognitive or behavioural therapy as medication only hides the symptoms, it doesn't remove the cause.
Best wishes to you both x
