is it possible to go off of zyprexa after 7 years and just take wellbutrin and prozac?

I take 300mg wellbutrin, 80mg prozac, .5mg xanax and 20mg zyprexa at the present time. zyprexa went up in price and i really can't afford it. plus, i want to lose weight and don't seem to be able to with the zyprexa. i've gained 68 pounds on it over the last 7 years. also, it just doesn't seem to be working anymore. i think i've built up a tolerance to it. help?

Zyprexa can cause weight gain and this probably accounts for the 68 pounds you gained. There is no documented evidence on having tolerance for this medication although it is possible. I suggest that you talk to your doctor about it. Do not just stop the medication because you may experience some adverse effects from it. If you feel that you do not need it anymore, then tell your doctor about it on the proper way to stop taking it. And if you cannot afford it, maybe your doctor can prescribe for you something cheaper. Hope this helps!
