I've just recently been prescribed Tamiflu for swine flu, I am worried as i'm not sure how the doctor's can say i have swine flu just by asking a few questions over the phone, what if it isnt swine flu? will the Tamiflu harm me if i don't have swine flu?
The NHS are panicking. Whoever turns up in a surgery or contacts NHS direct over the telephone with the symptoms of even a cold is getting prescribed Tamiflu. They are aware that in some of these cases, it is not swine flu, but they are giving out Tami Flu just to be sure. They wouldn't do this if it could harm you in any way. Only long and persistant ingestion of the drug would be likely to harm you - I'm talking 6 months plus.
