Why is the UK Goevernement peddling the importance of Tamiflu

When it doesn`t cure Swine Flu, it merely shortens the virus by one, yes people one whole, day! Does our governement own shares in the drug comapnies?

Because the less time you have it, the less chance you have of getting further complications.

Also, they don't tend to give out Tamiflu to people who are perfectly healthy; only those at risk with underlying health problems.

Simple answer.
When the last manufactured flu virus avian/bird flu was released the UK government brought about 50 million doses which weren't needed in the end. These millions of doses of tamiflu were all about to go past their sell / use by dates. then oops hey presto they got an excuse to flog them with another manufactured flu strain.
How lucky for the government and the manufacturer
