Is there any institution that helps people affected with hepatitis c taking
medication called antiretrovirals? A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with a highly invasive form of hepatitis c originated by a contaminated blood transfusion. Unfortunately, she is not in the U.S. but in the Dominican Republic and needs a massive amount of antiretrovirals (similar to those taken by HIV patients) to stay alive. The treatment costs 13,000 Dominican pesos a week, about $500 U.S. and she is a newly graduated physician not making nearly enough money to cover such expense. Please, let's help Raquel.

yes, call shering plough's committment to care program, or have her liver doctor ask about a medicinal trial-study. meds are usually free as well as all testing.
