Default Is it safe to take phentermine if I have a fever

Phentermine is an appetite suppressant. Side effects are alertness, headaches, nausea, etc.

I found out visiting the university clinic that I have an early kidney infection.

I have had a high grade fever for 3 days, lost my voice, and have not left the couch since.

The nurse practitioner said it was okay to take the prescribed medications plus the phen together. My mom, who is a nurse, said that I should stop taking phentermine because I am sick. I'm worried though that by stopping phentermine for the time being, I will get withdrawal headaches which will make it harder for me to recover.

Please respond if you are familiar with these medications. Thank you.

Technically, it is not contraindicated to phentermine with the presence of fever. However, phentermine does have side effects which can add to the discomfort you're having with your present illness. It would be much better to take it when you're feeling better.
