Question about Methotrexate
I've been taking Methotrexate (25mg) along with Prednisone for a few years for acute Polymyalgia.
As Methotrexate is used to increase the efficiency of the Prednisone, I am wondering whether it actually increases the side effects of the Prednisone as well ? (for example the resulting Cushing's Syndrome).
Ahmad. I'm not sure that you are really getting what I am saying. I've been put on the methotrexate by a top specialist, purely to boost the effects of the Prednisone.

If it is boosting the good effects, might it not also be boosting the bad side effects?

I would ask the specialist but she is on holidays.

I understand that it is a different class of drug, but it does interact with Prednisone.

It does not cause the bloating of the Prednisone.

Google: www.drugs.com>>methotrexate>>side effects

My best to you.
