if I stop taking allopurinol completely will it cause any side effects

I have been taking allopurinol for 3 months. I have not taken it the past 4 days ant on the 3rd day I began to have some problems like chest pain or something and a bad headache. can this be due to stopping abruptly the allopurinol?
