do you think Plaquenil is safe for a16 year old girl

i dont have any of the dieases yet and might not get them . i do have postives a and a's or something like that and Raynelds Diease . do you think i should take it i would be on it for life or should i see if there is any other types of med out there before commiting myself to something so serious.

I've been on plaquenil since I was 11 (I'm gonna be 21 soon) for lupus and I haven't had any side effects from it. It's a pretty safe drug, the main side effects they worry about are eye related (but very rare) so your doctor will probably tell you to get your eyes checked regularly.

Plaquenil can be taken by adults & even children provided that it was prescribed to them and they take the correct dose. For a 16 year old, the ideal dosage would be based on the weight of the patient.
