i've been taking celexa for 3 days along with ambien and I feel really jittery and tired is this normal
Is it dangerous to take both ambien and celexa together? I can't sleep and was already taking ambien, Two days ago I started taking celexa, and now it's been 3 days and I feel very jittery and feel like I could fall asleep anytime. my jaw feels tense and my body feels like its trembling. Will these feelings go away or should I just stop taking it and go back to Zoloft which I used to take about 3 years ago?

Well, the celexa will cause you to have less sleep probably for a few days. Usually it takes a month for it to even kick in. Probably the best decision is to only take the ambien at night, bc if you don't fall asleep within 15-45 minutes, you are going to be up the rest of the night, feeling as if you are on speed...sucks. Really, it's not harmful to take both together, but it is probably unnecessary since you've started taking celexa. See, taken alone Celexa will cause you to sleep better, since part of depression is losing sleep. But combine it with something else and it may not help as much as it should.

Whatever you do, do not stop taking the celexa (can cause blackouts, or heart failure) and talk to your doc about the combination getting to you.

My wife hated Citalopram, she is much better on Sertraline, Keep on the Citalopram for 4 weeks if you can as it takes a few weeks to get used to it.
