Side effects of metoprolol include arrhythmias, fainting, light headed, shortness of breath, swelling of feet/ankles, stomachache, nausea, jaundice, loss of appetite, depression, vomiting, problems with sleeping, impotence, anxiety, etc.

These are just some of the effects that may be felt when using metoprolol.

There are other medications that have been seen to react with metoprolol, which can elicit an adverse reaction. This includes the following medications: clonidine, digoxin, terbinafine, ritonavir, chloroquine, depression medications, MAO inhibitors, medications for diabetes, for cardiac problems, for asthma, diuretics, cold medications, and even diet pills.

Hope this helps.
