Anyone take ATENOLOL and change meds? My bp is normal now but Atenolol makes me feel so yucky. Pls. help
I have to take a beta blocker to keep my heart rate down, but i need a BETTER beta blocker that won't make me feel old and tired. I can barely function on this med; it sucks. It makes me feel weird too.
Have you spoken with your doctor about the side effects you are having? If not, you need to let him/her know as soon as possible. Fatigue is a frequent effect when first beginning beta blockers but many people adjust over time. Perhaps taking an extended release tablet (such as Toprol XL) may help. At any rate, you need to talk about this issue with you MD and see if something else can be tried or if you can get by on a smaller dose (which may help reduce fatigue). Good luck.
