I started to do water exercise and woke to a blood pressure of 139/100! I am on a beta-blocker. Is this normal
I just started to exercise four days a week and I am on the second when I awoke the next day my back hurt and my bp was 139/100 and pulse 77. Kind of freaked me out since I am away from home right now.

It happens. Make sure you are not eating any extra salt in any form (processed meats, cheese spreads or crunchy snacks). If the salt sneaks in, it can make your blood pressure creep up. Also, try eating foods that lower blood pressure (those high in potassium), if your doctor clears them for your diet.

Well - you weren't put on beta blockers because your blood pressure was normal to start with. You don't give enough details. Why do you take beta blockers (I take them for HBP)? What was your blood pressure before? Have you been drinking or eating a lot of sodium? Both of those can raise your blood pressure. Restaurant food is LOADED with sodium. Also, beta blockers take some days to work fully.

Keep checking your BP, and if it continues to rise, or doesn't go down in a few more days - contact your doctor.
