Can depression show up five months after starting Atenolol

I've been feeling really depressed lately. I've been really pessimistic, feeling empty and lonely, i've been sleeping a lot, have been super tired, etc. I read that atenolol can cause depression. it's a beta blocker used for blood pressure but i take it for tachycardia.

i started taking it five months ago and have only started feeling this way the past few weeks. whats weird is there is no reason i should feel this way. i've got a loving family great friends, etc. so thats why i think it's the medicine.

could depression show up five months after starting atenolol and should i talk to my doctor about it?
