I am on a long acting beta blocker for my low blood pressure. My heart was going too fast before and I would faint frequently. I'm doing very well now - but I am ready to begin exercising again (I used to be a cross country runner). I have not been able to tolerate anything and my doctor says that it is because the beta blocker won't allow my heart to speed up and so my blood cannot be oxygenated. I have gained several pounds since I have stopped running and I would like to regain my old shape. Is there anything I can do to shed some pounds without compromising my health?
