How long does it take my blood pressure medicine (beta-blockers) to work. Dr. just increased dosage
My blood pressure was up a little, doctor increased my dosage of Atenolol, I feel better than I did six days ago, but
my pressure is a little high still
I have a home monitor, now i get really nervious when i take my pressure, can this cause it to go higher?
Beta blockers need 3-5 days to take a full, stable effect on your condition, but immediate effects can be seen an hour after taking the meds. Just relax and don't anticipate a high BP reading. Stress can induce hypertension too. Good luck.
