I have a very rapid heart beat and my cardologist has tried a couple beta blockers,they made me feel odd,so he
wants me to try 120 mg. of Verapamil starting tonigt,im scared ,ny heart rate isnt real high tonite and im afraid it will make it go to low or i might have bad side effects from it,i read it could cause pyscosis,i already have bad anxiety and depression,,has anyone used this med is it pretty safe,mine id the sr kind and its blue is that what its suppose to look like

Side effects vary in certain individuals, it is not automatic that you'll experience the effects associated with the drug. As for the heart rate changes, yes it can cause slower heart rate or bradycardia.

As for the verapamil type you are taking, there are a lot of kinds in the market, but for the SR type, generic sustained-release verapamil (verapamil SR) may be more likely to cause stomach upset and should be taken with food to reduce this side effect.
