Does anyone notice themselves getting stretchmarks from Albuterol inhaler for asthma
I think I believe it causes them. I and my brother both have had bad asthma since young children and for years have used the albuterol inhailers on a daily basis. He has stretchmarks all up and down his back, top to bottom, as well as other places. I also have them just about everywhere including breasts, hips, elbows (crazy, doesn't make since to have them there), above knee caps, calfs, lower back, top of thighs, buttocks, inner thighs, upper back of arms..and who the heck knows if there are more places. I hope not . Neither one of us have ever went through a drastic growth spurt, nor have we gained or lost alot of weight. I never understood why we have these damned things. But out other brother and sister, whom have never used inhailers due to not having asthma, have zero stretchmarks. I just really think I have found out a reason for my stretchmarks and it really sucks. I just wondered if there is any real evidence on this that anyone has read or heard cause it would be interesting

I think that they possibly aren't stretch marks. Wrinkles maybe?

Hi there. Stretchmarks may pose as an annoying problem though it has not been proven that anti-asthma drugs can cause it. Stretchmarks are caused by "stretching" of our skin's outer layer and for it to make a permanent mark, the amount of stretching should surpass the skin's normal elasticity. I asked my dermatologist what really causes stretchmarks and she said there is no real precise cause aside from the one I mention above, usually following pregnancy or sometimes when you get fat then thin again which caused your skin to abnormally stretch.
