    Default Canada customs

Do Canada customs work on sorting mail on weekends? My package arrived at 2:45 on Friday Dec 9 and still says being reviewed by canada customs. Do they not do anything to update until the Monday morning?? I not sure if they do updating on weekends. Anyone know???

    Default Can. Customs

Pay very little attention to what the messages say. I'm betting that at some point you'll get a series of messages that indicate the customs boys did thar thang in under a minute--you know inspected your package and approved it after shaking it and hearing what they think must be a small plastic container of pebbles-"no problem with that--next package please Mr. Gumby".

The fact is, I figure 90% of lettermail arriving from UK and the US isn't so much as thought about by customs, let alone viewed or inspected by hand.

On the occasions they inspect by hand (after a random selection of a pallet of lettermail) they will certainly discover almost all contraband and seize it. It's a game of 20 to 1 and the 95% odds are with you.

I've not directly answered the question you posted but I already know this is the one you needed to read.
Btw, mail and customs messages can change 7 days a week at any time of a 24 hour day.
Get 'push notification" on an app so you don't end up wearing out the keypad of your smartphone;Ipod, etc.,checking for the ever possible changes in status of your package. The wait can be enjoyable.

Well thats what happens all the time. i get one message telling me its in customs, then about 4 more telling me its out for delivery. This time the message just stayed on ,saying in customs. Thats why i wanted to know was it cause it was a friday and it was going into weekend? Also this one is coming from pakistan. I never used them before, so thats why im a little worried. Its not updating as fast as all the other times. Oh well. your right, Guess i will just wait and see if status changes saying out for delivery. Thats all im waiting for.

Anything can happen concerning a long apparent stay in customs. It usually means it cleared days earlier but the scan was not updated.
It can also mean it was seized. If it stays in Customs for more than (let's say) 10 days, it's likely seized----or---misplaced and forgotten. You could get it months afterwards or get a seizure notice about 6 weeks after the fact.

Absolutely, and I've said this before but I find customs step up their scrutiny this time of year, even though it makes no sense. I've also experienced the scanning to be inaccurate; I've received packages even though they say they haven't cleared customs.

All those messages are very outdated. The online updating system cannot keep up with real time tracking. Your package is probably on its way. Don't fret my friend. Keep us posted on its arrival.
