Do you really think chemotherapy works my mother has polio?

she has been sick about 6 months to the point of her wanting to see docter and actually telling people she was sick was in hospital about 6 weeks because of throwing up no appitite diarehea and rectal bleeding they said she had an infection and an absess in her large intestines treated for that let her go still sick and still bleeding she went back to hospital last week they said she had an absess again and went to surgery to get out and found cancerous tumor in colon they say there was alot but think they got it all and want to start her on chemo in case it spread elsewhere but this scares me I have never heard any good from chemo everyone I ever heard of got sick from it and ended up dying soon after my mom is paralized as it is and I am worried chemo will kill her any advise thank you Kathy

This is a very scary situation for you i'm sure.

My name is Annette and I have ovarian cancer stage 3, which means that my cancer has spread throughout my abdomen because it wasn't caught on time. My side effects from chemo are sometimes not good, I get leg pains, fatigue, short of breath and sometimes nausea. Overall the chemo does work, my cancerous tumors started shrinking after the 1st chemo and I have 4 more to go. There are alot of different types of chemo, when my doctor gives me my chemo they also inject an anti nausea medication that helps me not regurgitate and eat so that I can keep my strength up. I lost my hair, my eyebrows, not body hair at all but my will to live is stronger than my appearance right now. Pray, Pray & Pray some more for your mother and may god be with her through this difficult journey. There is hope, don't lose that!!
