I broke my back three years ago and I have been in pain ever since. I chose not to have surgery as I have heard horror stories and the surgeon told me to wait to see if there are better surgical procedures for the future for the kind of problem that I have. I find it very difficult to find a physician that will prescribe pain medications for my injury. I had a very good doctor and he left the area, leaving me in a bad situation.
I am disgusted by the drug war and this prohibition which makes it so difficult to obtain pain meds for people that really need them. People don't realize when they come together to ban oxycontin and methadone because they had loved ones who died from them, how difficult it makes for those of us who have pain. They think "Oh, you will get them if you need them", heowever that is not the way it is. The drug war is a stupid waste of money for the American people.
If the government truly wants to balance the budget, "End the War on Drugs", which is really just a war against people.
