Anyone have a remedy for scalp eczema besides cortisone lotions
I have had an itchy scalp since I was in college. Doctor has given me Betamethasone Dipropionate Lotion for years or Diprolene. I think stress causes it since I am a male and tend to keep things in. I wake up in the middle of the night scratching my head. I have double washed my sheets and tried different detergents too. I have tried Indian herbal remedies, Nioxin shampoo, tea tree shampoos, tea tree oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E. I think it is my body's way of saying I'm a little stressed in life. What are your remedies?

Just try Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo. Many of the chain stores have generic brands that are the same thing. I have had trouble for 40 years + and this is great.

The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and sea food which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I've turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aims at the root of the disease - the immune system. This treatment controls my eczema very well.
After about 3 weeks of using ointment and spray my scalp cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My scalp has been clear for months now.
I'm very pleased with the results.

I used to have eczema on my hands which I got rid of by using cortisone creams. For years now I've always had a problem with psoriasis on my scalp (dead skin cells). My remedy for that is to wash my scalp with a tar based shampoo such as Neutrogena T-Gel. Perhaps you should give it a try for your eczema..it might work.
Good luck!
