Has anyone gotten pregnant while there husband was taking prednisone? We are trying and don't want to get our hope too high.
He has been on prednisone for the majority of the past year for treatment of UC. He hasn't been able to get off for more than two months before having to start again. He is currently on it.

Yes, prednisone is a corticosteroid, which will cause a huge decrease in sperm production. It would be a miracle if you got pregnant while he is on it. My Hubby is suppose to get a steroid shot in his back for a spine problem and we know we won't be able to try for about six months. Steroids can be a shock to the system, no matter if your a boy or a girl taking them. Mosby's drug book has more info on it, you can look it up online. Good luck
I'm not sure if it's gender specific or not (meaning making one gender more likely to be infertile) but I was on it constantly as a child and had no problems getting pregnant. Is he on it for an extended amount of time?
