I'm taking prednisone 20mg a day for the past 4 months and hate the side effects. I take it for what seems to be a severe asthma condition. After I have a lung biopsy they plan to prescribe other drugs, but I was wandering what those other drugs might be. Does anyone know any anti inflammatory drugs that would do the job like steroids? Thanks for your help.
Anti-inflammatory drugs cannot be an alternative to steroids in this case.
You are not alone, hating prednisone's side effects. But it it's really the best drug for you, why don't you ask your doctor how to manage the side effects? Perhaps, a lower dose would do. It might not work that fast, but it's better that sticking with your 20mg dose then quitting because of the side effects.
