    Default Meloxicam and Lisinopril

I was prescribed meloxicam after a car accident back in December. I took it for awhile and it helped, but I had a strange side affect. I teared-up throughout the day. Co-workers started to talk .

I stopped the meloxicam because of the tearing problem. Since then, I have been diagnosed with Bicuspid Heart Valve. My aortic valve has two flaps instead of three. It puts a little more strain on the heart. Anyway, my Dr. put me on Lisinopril to reduce heart strain and specifically reduce heart tissue build-up (thickening).

Recently, my injuries from the accident have been causing pain and I'm considering the Meloxicam again. My Dr. thought I was off meloxicam when he prescribed Lisinopril so we never talked about interactions.

Does anyone know of any interactions between the two?

I just did a quick check through my BNF and it doesn't list any interactions between the two in there so you should be fine .

@robcos, I was prescribed both at the same time by the same doctor. I forget what the
mgs of the meloxicam were,(I think they were 15) but I do 40 mg. of lisinopril a day also. I noticed the meloxicam worked for a short while, then no effect, it seemed to me. Once the
script was gone I didn't ask for any more. It's also an NSAID which docs don't want you on indefinitely, so for me it wasn't a big deal.
So apparently no contraindications between the two.

I was prescribed Melox with gabapentin... the melox did nothing more than an ibprofen in my mind, but I only had to take one pill which was nice,,, till they stopped working after a week. That was for back pain. I think I remember my doc saying not to take any other nsaids with it, as it can overload the liver or something. But yeah, it was useless basically, after a week or so.
