Prednisone questions?

I recently got diagnosed with Asthma. The doc put me on 2 diffferent inhalers and predisone.. for the first 3 days i am suppose to take 6 pills a day and then decrease by one pill each day. Well its only been 6 days and ALREADY my clothes are tight! My jacket is VERY tight in my arms and i feel like my whole body is bruised (i am thinking this feeling is from my skin stretching from gaining weight).... Well, I stopped taking these pills, I know i shouldnt but there is no way in hell i will let this weight gain continue...I'll just stick to the inhalers. Anyways, how soon can i expect this weight gain to come off?

OH NO!! Do NOT just stop taking them all of a sudden - there is a reason that you have to taper slowly! You can get very sick from cutting of prednisone suddenly. I know it makes you fat and feel horrible, but I promise that after being off of it for a week you'll go back to normal.

You won't be on them for long, just finish off your taper and then refuse to go on them again.
