Prednisone, a corticosteroid, often affects the body (dog) when taken for long periods of time. It can produce diarrhea, ulcers, pancreas inflammation, muscle degeneration, vomiting, diabetes, weight changes, behavioral changes, and skin/ hair problems. But for short term, there has no documented adverse effect.
