My dog has been put on prednisone and has the classic side effects of excessice thirst, urination and increased appetite. I am wondering if anyone has noticed a behavior change while their dog was on prednisone...my dog is less active and just doesn't seem happy. Is this also a side effect of the prednisone?
I also wanted to mention she seems depressed and lacking energy. Is this common?
I strongly recommend getting your poor dog off that stuff as fast as humanly possible. My parents' dog was on prednisone and it ended up giving him an autoimmune disorder (kind of like AIDS for dogs). Bad, bad stuff. And yeah, it made him feel like crap.
