prescribed triamcinolone acetonide ointment...
within the past few days i tried a new face wash from neutrogena and started to get, what i thought were breakouts, on my face, neck and chest. within the next day they were all over my body. i was thinking it was an allergic reaction to it so i stopped using it and it just got worse, even though i started taking benadryl and a benadryl extra strength cream to stop the itching. i went to my dermatologist and she doesnt think it was the face wash and that it is a viral infection. but from what? my whole body feels like it's burning and itching. she prescribed me triamcinolone acetonide ointment USP 0.1% and took a piece of my skin to run some tests, but the results wont be back for at least a week. in the meantime, how quickly will this ointment reduce the rashes and make the itchy/burning feeling stop?

Triamcinolone acetonide is said to be 8 times more potent than prednisone. It can produce visible results in 3 to 5 days, however, results vary in certain individuals. If you think that this oinment just partially improved your condition, then go see your doctor again.
