Xenical does have bad side effects, but most importantly, this drug is never long term effective. It performs well in clinical trials but never long term. The only way to lose weight is a healthy reduced calorie diet and plenty of vigorous exercise.In my opinion, Reductil and Xenical etc are very irresponsible responses to obesity, and I think it is equally irresponsible for GP's to prescribe it...most good GP's won't, including my mother who has been a GP for 20 years and has never once prescribed a diet pill.
It dosen't matter why your obese, or what has caused it, there are still never any short cuts to losing weight; less in and more out i'm afraid.
