Glyburide and Not Ovulating
I was put on Byetta and Avandia by my family doctor last year to become pregnant because I have PCOS... I know since it took me forever to conceive, I had OB/GYN appt. yesterday to talk to the Dr. about wanting to have more children in the near future. I mentioned to her about what my family doctor had put me on, and it worked... but now, my insurance wont cover the two medicines. She has decided to put me on Glyburide 1.25mg once a day since I am unable to take Metformin ( it makes me terribly sick )... My question is... Has anyone been prescribed Glyburide and become pregnant? I know its not a medicine to promote ovulation, but it helps to not be insulin resistant... Any help would be great and I would really appreciate it!! Thanks again!

Glyburide helps regulate insulin levels, which can in effect help regulate the hormones responsible for ovulation. It can help in conception although how soon it will happen cannot be predicted.

Hope this helps.

I'm glad to know that it helps to regulate the hormones for ovulation. I'm so hopeful to conceive this year.
