I am on Metformin 1500 mg and have been limited sugar. Today I had 4 gl of really sweet tea and got ill why
Just to let you guys know, I have PCos so I have been really good at not drinking sugar drinks and I have not been drinking caffiene. So, about half an hour after this I started to feel dizzy and my hands were shaking a little. I felt like I needed to lay down and just drink a lot of water.

My question is this. What caused me to get ill? The sugar rush or the caffiene or a combo of both. I don't have a tolerance to either one of them

Did the medication Metformin (That keeps insulin levels down just go crazy when I dran those glasses of tea?

Thanks in advace for your help

It sounds like you had too much sugar and it caused your blood sugar to drop. This happens to me if I have something real sugary and nothin else like protein. It makes u feel terrible. Dizzy shaky kinda stomach hurts stuff like that. If it ever happens again the best thing u can eat is cheese if that's not available try peanut butter or some nuts. My dad takes that med too but for diabetes and so he has to watch his sugar intake as well. Just be careful next time!
