I think it depends upon the person. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15. So, luckily for me, I knew I might have fertility issues before I got married and ever tried to conceive. I started taking Metformin in late June of 2007 and I conceived my daughter in mid July. It took less than a month for Metformin to help me ovulate. I am not the only case which this has happened. I got in touch with another girl who got pregnant within a month of taking it too! We both had the same doctor and similar problems, so we got to talkin to in the waiting room. You know how that works. I can't say whether this will be the miracle drug for you that it was for me. I just want to share my story to give other women with fertility issues associated with PCOS some HOPE! I tried for 6 years on my own to get pregnant and all I got was a miscarraige. I was depressed for a long time, thinking I would never get the baby of my dreams. Now, all I have to do is go into the other room and there she is, my beautiful 14 month old girl. I will not hesitate to get a perscription for Metformin the next time we are trying to conceive. I wish you the best of luck!~Shannon from RI
