Metformin and PCOS??please help.

I have PCOS. I don't have the typical signs of woman with PCOS aside from high testosterone, elevated estrogen and irregular periods. I have tried birth control but my husband and I want to try for a baby. My doctor just recently put me on metformin for a month to see if there are any results and may put me on clomid in combination next month.

I was wondering from experienced woman if just metformin did it for them? How effective is it? How long did it take you after starting the medication?

Please any help would be appreciated..
