I was put on metforem last friday because i have pcos and my questions is does it help with your period. I did not have my period last month and then after i started taking the met I got my period yesterday and it is much lighter than before and I do have some cramping but nothing like when I wasn't taking the met... I would like to have a baby in the near future and want to know how to tell if i have a 28 day cycle or a 30 day cycle because my periods are so messed up. I need some good advice! Is there any one out there with pcos that had a baby just by taking met alone?????

You need to let the metformin build up in your body & have a few periods on it before you can know your cycle. My periods have gone from 2-3 times a year to every 40 - 45 days & getting shorter - 48, 45, 42. I am taking met too but with clomid to help ttc with PCOS. You should ask your doc for clomid too.
