Will Metformin HELP me lose weight

I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor prescribed Metformin to help elevate my slightly high insulin levels due to my body rejecting insulin and making more than is needed

I've read some things online of ladies with PCOS also taking Metformin and seeing weight loss results.

I know Metformin isn't used for weight loss, but will it HELP me lose weight? I'm currently dieting and exercising and I've heard PCOS makes it harder to lose weight so I'm hoping Metformin will help. TIA

be careful with metformin! 2 of my friends have been put on this and as soon as they eat a meal they have to run to the bathroom for #2. they have both lost weight but nothing more than about 15 to 20 lbs. I'm not trying to scare you, just be cautions!

Yes, it does help reducing weight.
