    Metformin Is good for Type 2 Diabetes; insulin-resistant and prediabetic conditions including impaired glucose tolerance.Metformin hydroohloride lowers the amount of glucose produced by the liver,reduces the amount of glucose you absorb from food,and helps cells use glucose.Metformin can also moderately lower blood fats.

    Yes, there are several kinds of Metforming (also known as glucophage):

    Metformin
    Metformin XR
    ACTOS Plus Met (a combination pill that comes in two dose strengths)
    and one other combination pill.

    Good stuff that is well tested....I take a 1000mg of Metforming XR daily.
