You know, I know this won't help you, but I'm just going to tell you my story. I have poly-cystic ovarian syndrome and I'm insulin resistant. They gave me the metformin for the insulin resistance and were HOPING that would be enough to conceive. It wasn't. They then made me take it THREE times a day, still not enough. I was then taking metformin three times a day and one month of clomid, just one pill a day. I STILL didn't ovulate. The 2nd month, I took two clomid a day along with the metformin and we finally conceived.
So long story short, are you insulin-resistant or pre-diabetic? If not, maybe that is the reason they aren't giving you the metformin.
As far as sex everyday, we did the every other day thing. Our doctor told us that having it everyday does not increase your chance...which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever, but what do I know? We did get pregnant doing it every other day. I don't necessarily think it hurts to have it everyday, but every other day is sufficient.
I know I really didn't come out and answer your questions, but maybe something in all of my rambling helped a bit. Good luck. We know the frustration of not being able to conceive when you want to, and sometimes it's a long road. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.
